Mindanao Trade Expo opens for the 39th Kadayawan Festival

The Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation, Inc. once again mounts MTE Kadayawan on August 11 to 17, 2024 at the Activity Center of Ayala Malls Abreeza.

Being one of the accredited 39th Kadayawan Festival events, MTE Kadayawan 2024 will feature approximately 150 local exhibitors from all over Mindanao with products ranging from arts and crafts, home décor and houseware, furniture and furnishing, fashion accessories, and textiles, beauty and wellness, fresh and processed food, tourist destinations.

Kadayawan is derived from the Mandaya word "madayaw," meaning beautiful or valuable, as the locals use this time to give thanks for the season's bountiful harvest. Similarly, the 7-day MTE Kadayawan fair will showcase the ingenuity of local artisans and the potential of products originating from the island of Mindanao.

The said expo is part of MTE's continued support in providing marketing platforms for micro, small and medium enterprises, who continue to thrive and recover post-pandemic. Accordingly, given the high foot traffic brought by the Kadayawan celebration, MTE Kadayawan is one of the most anticipated editions among local exhibitors. For this year MTEFI targets 12 million pesos in sales for the Kadayawan fair.

The organizers will also engage the exhibitors with institutional buyers such as hotels, resorts, restaurants, malls, and specialty stores, condominiums, and residences, traders and sub-contractors, designers, walk-in mall goers, and consumers from the Davao Region, nearby regions and provinces.

And to maximize the expo's reach, exhibitors' information will also be posted in the MTEFI website (www.mindanaotradeexpo.com) and will be promoted in the official Facebook page of the organization.

"The banner theme for MTEFI this year is Empowering the Future of MSMES Connecting Cultivating, Commerce' which highlights the crucial significance of MSMES by facilitating greater market accessibility," MTEFI President Dr. Rosevic Lucilla Del Rosario-Cembrano said

"This 2024 mantra encourages innovation and product development as essential elements for fostering sustainable competitiveness, with the ultimate aim of ensuring long-term success for these enterprises," she added.

The MTE Kadayawan 2024 is organized by MTE Foundation, Inc, in partnership with the City Government of Davao, the Davao City Investment Promotion Office, the Davao City Tourism Operation Office, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PhilExport) and Ayala Malls Abreeza.
