There is something undeniably special about the music of the 90s. For those of us who grew up in that era, the tunes of bands like Teeth were the soundtrack of our lives. Fast forward to today, and I found myself transported back in time, reliving the magic of the 90s, as I attended the recent concert of Kalingawan 2023 featuring Teeth, the band that once ruled our hearts with songs like “Laklak” and “Princesa”.
Excitement had gripped me as I stepped into the venue, and you'll be captivated by their front-act bands featuring some of Davao's local talents like; AcidRadius, Virmuda, Plastic Butter, Mushroom and The Dukes.
As the band took the stage, I couldn’t help but marvel at how time had treated them. Despite the passage of years, their energy was infectious, and they looked every bit as passionate as they did back in the 90s.
There were a lot of fans who had followed the band since their early days, proudly wearing Teeth merchandise, and there were younger attendees who had discovered the band’s music through streaming platforms and fallen in love with their timeless sound. It was heartening to see the music of my youth transcend generations, bridging the gap between the 90s and the present.
The concert was not just a trip down memory lane; it was a testament to the enduring power of music. Teeth’s concert was a reminder that great music knows no boundaries of time or age. It has the ability to touch souls, evoke emotions, and create lasting connections among people, regardless of their backgrounds or life experiences.
